Thyme & Honey Tea

Thereโ€™s a very specific kind of day when your throat feels rough, your voice sounds questionable, and everything just needs to slow down a bit. You donโ€™t want anything complicated. You want something warm, soothing, and actually helpful.

This is one of those old-school remedies that people keep coming back to for a reason.

Thyme brings that herbal, slightly earthy strength. Honey smooths everything out. Together, itโ€™s simple, direct, and quietly effective.

Ingredients:

1 tsp dried thyme or 2โ€“3 sprigs fresh thyme (the herbal core that does the real work) 1 1/2 cups hot water (just off the boil, gentle but effective)
1โ€“2 tsp honey (the soothing layer that coats and softens)
A squeeze of lemon, optional (adds brightness and a little lift)

Steps:

Step 1: Release the Thyme

Add thyme to a cup or teapot.
Pour in hot water.
Let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes so the flavor fully develops.

Step 2: Strain and Settle

Strain out the thyme or remove the sprigs.
Let the tea cool slightly before adding honey.

Step 3: Sweeten and Balance

Stir in honey until dissolved.
Add a small squeeze of lemon if you want a sharper finish.

Tea Tip:

Crush the thyme lightly before steeping. This helps release more of its natural oils and makes the tea more effective without needing more herbs.
